Maska Pony wins

On the 22nd of June ‘Ryan’ won his first flat race at Redcar. He was ridden by Jason Hart and bravely hung on to beat Madrasa by a head. He has run consistently well since switching to the flat so this win was well deserved.

He ran again yesterday – 11th July in an Amateur race at Doncaster. This time he was ridden by the girl who looks after him at home, Kay Howden (pictured above). This was Kay’s first ever ride in public. Understandably she was nervous, she was squeezed up coming out of the stalls and consequently could never get into a rhythm after that.

It is much harder to race ride than it actually looks, although they only beat two horses the pair thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we are very proud of Kay for having a go. ‘Ryan’ is now having a little holiday; we will keep you informed of his next outing in several weeks’ time.
